I’ve always strongly believed that everything happens for a reason. I still do.
But I’ve come to realize that it’s more than that.
What it comes down to is making the best out of the circumstances and situations that are rolled out in front of you. Whether those circumstances are positive or negative, it’s up to you to decide how you’re going to move forward.
Whether there’s a reason or not, “everything” happens anyway. Hell, who even decides the reasons? God? Some higher being whose mind you can’t change anyway?
Weed out and acknowledge the positives. Devour, learn from, but never forget the negatives. Progress. Evolve. Because at the end of it all, you’re the one who makes the ultimate decision. You’re the one to blame if you buckle under pressure. And you’re the one to pat on the back if you overcome the obstacles.
“Everything” happens. That’s just how it is, and always will be. What you take from it is, well…
Yours for the taking.
Excuses are used by those who just don’t care about anyone but themselves. Excuses are used by the selfish. Excuses are used by cowards who are too afraid to ruin a self-image that’s bound to implode anyway.
You intend for your excuses to be barriers. Instead, they’re just windows into you mind and soul.
So keep excusing yourself, so that it pains me less to dismiss you.
We all miss the toilet, sometimes.
It’s natural for one to chase that which cannot be caught.
It’s ambitious for one to believe that anything can be caught.
It’s stupid for one to not engage in the chase.
So chase on. You may not catch what you want, but the lessons you learn and the suffering you endure will do more for you than if you were to remain static.
